SATURDAY, July 17 - Noon - 4pm "MAKE A FLOAT" EVENT - Free! Bring your car, your trailor, your wagon, your tricylce your idea, some materials and especially yourselves ---- and make a float for the Annie and Mary Day parade. Dell'Arte will have on hand designers to help construct floats to celebrate our community in the Annie and Mary Day parade. The Dell'Arte Parking Lot on the corner of 1st and Railroad across from Stardoughs. There will also be mask making for kids and general Dell’Arte fun!

Body: A Humboldt County Tradition Semi-pro baseball Going into their 66th season, the Humboldt Crabs are America's oldest continuously operated summer collegiate baseball program. The non-profit organization draws tens of thousands of fans out every summer to see the stars of the future play at The Arcata Ball Park. The best part is the price. Tickets, beers and hotdogs for the family at a Crabs game might, if you're lucky, cover parking at a big league event. Body: There is Something for Everyone at The Fortuna Rodeo Week! It is not just the raging bulls and courageous cowhands; the Fortuna rodeo is a week-long family festival with something for everyone. Come enjoy small town Americana. The good, old days are still happening every year at the Fortuna Rodeo. Rodeo activities begin with a chili cook off on Main Street and end on July 19th at the rodeo arena. •The kids love Rodeo week because there are many attractions for them. All week long: old-fashioned street games include stick horse races, egg toss, penny scramble and other contests. These downtown games draw a crowd every evening. •The Redwood Village Shopping Center puts on shows and holds games and contests for the kids also, including a little cowpokes costume contest. •The local firemen compete in a muster and everyone gets wet that night. The fire trucks are on display and the kids get to hold a fire hose and act like firemen, and the firemen get to hold a fire hose and act like kids. •The carnival with its rides and its midway is set up in Rohner Park and operates for several days. •Friday the official rodeo begins with a night of off-beat contests for both kids (an animal scramble and pinata) and adults (ATV races, "Quadiators" and calf dressing). •Saturday and Sunday the pros enter the arena for bull riding, barrel racing, roping, broncs and other contests. The rodeo finale on Sunday starts with a deep pit barbecue and then moves into the arena for more rodeo-sport. Directions: Take any of the three Fortuna exits off of Highway 101. Subject: Tour of Trinidad Bike Ride

Body: Enjoy biking with breathtaking views of the coastline and the seaside village of Trinidad. Bring your bike and register to participate in this scenic ride along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on the Redwood Coast. All proceeds go to Project Share Life, which matches bone marrow donors with leukemia patients. Easy Family Tour 20 km. Starts at 10:00 a.m. Bring your family and participate in this easy ride on relatively flat terrain. This ride takes you through the seaside town of Trinidad with beautiful views of the coastline. Bikes with multiple gears are recommended but not required. Entry Fee $15 Family Challenge Tour 45 km. Starts at 9:30 a.m. A more challenging tour, great for the athletic and families with older children. This tour takes you through parts of McKinleyville, Westhaven, and Trinidad with fantastic coastal views. A bike with multiple gears is recommended. Entry Fee $20 Riders Challenge Tour 100 km. (65 mi.) Starts at 9:00 a.m. This is a course for experienced riders and takes you through the pastoral bottom lands of Arcata, McKinleyville, Fieldbrook, Westhaven, and coastal Trinidad. Entry Fee $25 Registration, Start, and Finish for all rides will be at Trinidad Elementary School. Post Ride Meal: All riders will get to enjoy a great spaghetti lunch after the ride, with salad, garlic bread, drinks and dessert.
