Body: Parade - Picnic - Performance - and Fireworks!!! Schedule: 10am-Noon Main Street FREE FIRETRUCK RIDES Independence Day Fire Engine Rides. Ferndale Volunteer Firefighters celebrate independence with an old-fashioned treat for the kids: a free ride on a gleaming fire engine. 12:00pm PARADE: Begins at Noon. Put on by the Ferndale Repertory Theartre, this promises to be an artful parade down Main Street. 1:00pm PICNIC: Lunch at 1pm! The picnic on the Town Green is sponsored by the Ferndale Rotary and offers a tasty Bar-B-Q, hot dogs or burgers (including veggie burger option), potato salad, beans, and Humboldt Creamery ice cream with chocolate syrup. Burger meal $6, Hot dog meal $4 3:00pm PERFORMANCE: Patriotic Musical Revue, "Celebrate America." Body: A Humboldt County Tradition Semi-pro baseball Going into their 66th season, the Humboldt Crabs are America's oldest continuously operated summer collegiate baseball program. The non-profit organization draws tens of thousands of fans out every summer to see the stars of the future play at The Arcata Ball Park. The best part is the price. Tickets, beers and hotdogs for the family at a Crabs game might, if you're lucky, cover parking at a big league event. Body: Carnival, Food, Fun and Fireworks Come play along the Eureka boardwalk, and celebrate Independence Day with great food, live music, and fun for all ages. Over 100 booths selling homemade crafts, food, and beverages, live music, and a Kids Zone. This is one big street party. The festivities span along 2nd Street in Old Town between D & F Streets. The festival runs from10:00am. to 4:00pm. This Fourth, members of the local chaper of the LCI 1091 - Landing Craft Infantry, will be in the bay operating their human powered landing boats. 12 - 14 folks operating 12 levers that propel the ship through water. Good view points are the boardwalk in old town and Halverson Park at the foot of L on Waterfront Drive.
