Scholarships

Each year, Coast Central awards a number of scholarships to local high school graduates who will be attending College of the Redwoods, Humboldt State University, Shasta Community College, or Chico State University full-time.

Applications are now available for 2012 graduates! Click here for an application and more information on our scholarships. The application deadline is Friday, March 16, 2012.

For Teens (13-17)

In addition to our youth programs, we have a more "grown-up" set of free resources, designed especially for teens!

(Click to visit the CU Succeed website)

CU Succeed helps credit union (CU) teens learn about being financially responsible, and how to prepare for the life changes ahead of them. You can also read up about:
         Preparing for college
Saving up for big purchases (like a car)
         Picking a career
         Building credit

Each teen member can also use their CU Succeed Deposit Card to keep track of their deposits, and for each completed card turned in to Coast Central, they'll earn an entry into a great quarterly prize drawing (for iPods, gift cards, and more)!

The prize for the first quarter of 2012 is a 7" Kindle Fire! Ask any of our Member Services Representatives for your CU Succeed Deposit Card if you don't have one already, and make sure to have them initial it each time you make a deposit over $5.00.

For Young Adults (18+)

When you turn 18, a lot of things change. You have a whole new list of priorities, and have to start learning to live on your own. Coast Central has partnered with a company called On Your Way, which helps you make this transition and have fun doing it.

This free, interactive site features a lot of helpful information while giving you the opportunity to win high-value prizes and cash! The more you use the site, the more chances you have to win. You can submit your own stories or read up in their blogs and video libraries. Popular topics include:

         Buying a car or home
         Financing a wedding or vacation
         Handling student loan debt
         Maximizing your credit score
         Investments & retirement
