Coast Central Credit Union values the privacy of our members. You have chosen to do business with us, and we recognize our duty to keep the information you provide to us secure and confidential. We believe that all personal and financial information specific to you that you provide to the Credit Union through any channel constitutes personal information. Protecting your privacy, along with your financial assets, is at the core of our business.

Keeping your financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We value your trust and handle your information with care. Our employees access information about you when needed to maintain your accounts to process your transactions or as otherwise required or permitted by law. Our Quality Service standards emphasize the importance of keeping our members' information confidential. We protect information according to established security standards and procedures, and we continually assess new technology for protecting information.

In the course of doing business, we collect and use various types of information, such as information available from public records, market research and credit reports, your transactions with us and with others, as well as information you provide to us. We may also access information about you, such as credit reports, when considering a request from you for additional services or when exercising our rights under the law or any agreement with you.

Keeping your account information accurate and up to date is very important. We have established procedures so that your financial information is accurate, current and complete. If you ever find that your account information is incomplete, inaccurate or not current, please call or write us at the telephone number or address listed on your account statement. We will correct any inaccurate information as quickly as possible.

We limit who receives information and what type of information is shared. We do not sell our member lists to catalogs, direct mail companies, magazines or other financial service providers. During the course of business, we may disclose to third parties the following kinds of nonpublic personal information about you:

  • Information we receive from your applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income.
  • Transaction Information, such as your account balance, payment history, and credit card usage.
  • Information from credit reports, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.

Also, at times, we may enter into agreements with other businesses and share information from your applications to provide support or services to us or for one or more of our products, such as check-printing or data processing companies. These companies might, for example, assist us in offering you certain products and services or help us mail statements. Under certain circumstances we may also enter into joint marketing agreements with other financial organizations. Before entering into relationships with such entities, we require them to agree to safeguard our consumer's information and to comply with all applicable privacy law. However, you have the right to control whether we share some of your personal information with these other financial organizations.

Information may be exchanged with credit bureaus and similar organizations, provided when legally required or permitted, or in connection with a fraud investigation.

If we receive a subpoena or similar legal process demanding release of any information about you, we will generally attempt to notify you (unless we believe we are prohibited from doing so.) Except as required by law or as described above, we do not share information with other parties, including government agencies.

We do not collect personal identifying information about visitors to our Internet site. Individual visitors to Coast Central Credit Union's web site remain anonymous. Our servers collect standard non-identifying information about visits to our site, such as date and time visited, IP address, city, state and country. This information is used to compile standard statistics on site usage.

Any personal identifying information on our Coast Central OnLine site is securely contained behind our firewall and is not shared in any way with any outside vendor, except as described above.
