When you're on the go, it helps to be able to call in to check balances, make transfers, and do other kinds of transactions on your account. Coast Central makes this easy for you by offering a free phone-in
banking service, which goes hand-in-hand with online banking. Following is a short guide on how to get the most from your phone banking access.
Please note that this service does not currently include mobile online banking. While you can place a call to get information on your accounts, you won't be able to access Coast Central
Online using your mobile device's web browser. We hope to make this service available in the future.
Calling In
First you'll need to dial our phone banking access number, which is (707) 840-0333 (locally) or (800) 922-8880 (toll-free within Northern California). If you have the ability, it helps to save this into
your phone as a contact or speed-dial number for easy access.
Note that you'll need to have a touchtone phone in order to use this service. Not all "push-button" phones are necessarily touchtone; if yours is not, you'll know if the voice system fails to respond
to your entries. If your phone is not touchtone, inexpensive converters can be purchased from most consumer electronics stores.
Basic Information Entry
Keep in mind that you can always move backward and out of any menu by pressing the star (*) key. You may press this or enter information at any time (listening to the full recording is not necessary).
Aside from menu function entry (pressing 1 for one option, 2 for another, etc.), you are usually required to push the pound key (#) after entering information.
When asked to enter an account type, use the keypad when you know the exact type (i.e. S10). If not, wait for the option that offers an account list, and you'll be able to select from all the available
options for your account.
Using the keypad to enter your account type can be a little tricky the first time. For the letter, you'll use the keypad's number equivalent, but for the "point," use the zero key. If you want to enter
S1, for example, use the "S" key (7 on your keypad) then 7. For an S7.1, enter "S" (7 on your keypad), 7, 0, 1. The automated system will guide you through this process as well.
If you're using a Blackberry and cannot determine ordinary keypad equivalents, you may need to check your owner's manual, but pressing "Alt" helps many members pull up a traditional keypad.
Entering Your Member Number & PIN
The first thing you'll be asked to do is enter your member number, along with the first two letters of your last name (using your telephone keypad), then press pound (#). For the letters Q and Z,
use the zero key.
If you experience difficulty with this step, double check that the last name you're using is that of the primary member on the account. If you share the account with someone else, you might try
using the first two letters of their last name instead. If you have a business account, the first two letters might be the first two of your business name, depending upon how your account is titled.
If you can recall how your statements appear or who they are addressed to, this can give you some clues. Some accounts are titled even differently, such as "JOE SMITH AS TRUSTEE FOR JOE JONES," or
"JOE SMITH DBA ABC COMPANY" - in this case, you would use "JO" as the first two letters of your "last name."
Entering your PIN is as easy as pressing each digit and then pound (#).
