Coast Central Fire Relief Fund Donates $12,000

Coast Central Credit Union President/CEO James T. Sessa, announced that, together with generous support from its members, a total of $12,000 has been donated to fire relief efforts.

Redding-based Shasta Regional Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund (shastarcf.org) , a resource-building organization, is receiving $10,000 toward the short and long-term recovery of individuals and families affected by the Carr Fire. The fire has killed 8 people, destroyed nearly 1,100 homes and burned some 230,000 acres.

North Coast Opportunities Wildfire Relief Fund (ncoinc.org) for Mendocino Complex Fire relief based in Ukiah is receiving a $2,000 donation. The Fund is providing continued support to those who have suffered fire-related losses in Lake or Mendocino counties. The Mendocino Complex Fire is the largest in California history, destroying 400,000 acres and over 150 homes.

“Our hearts go out to the numerous individuals and families affected by these devastating fires throughout our neighboring communities,” Sessa stated. “In support of relief efforts, we’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our membership. Individual donations have ranged from $5 to $300, and a Fortuna business donated over $700 from a recent fundraiser. Our members clearly care as deeply as we do about a ‘people helping people’ commitment.”

Donations will continue to be accepted at all Coast Central Member Services Branches, and 100% of all contributions will be awarded to deserving organizations in direct support of victims of the fires.
