Coast Central Credit Union’s Board of Directors has approved $150,000 in grants for 25 non-profit organizations serving Del Norte, Humboldt, and Trinity counties. The grants are part of Coast Central’s Community Investment Program, through which the credit union invests more than $700,000 annually in spring and fall grants, scholarships, and sponsorships. Coast Central employees are also on track to support our community with more than 5,000 hours of volunteer work this year.
This year’s grants support first responders, healthcare, animal welfare, art and cultural organizations, youth organizations, and more.
“It’s our members who make this investment possible, and we’re honored to put these resources back to work in our community,” said Fred Moore, President and CEO of Coast Central Credit Union. “Supporting the organizations that make our communities stronger is a big part of who we are as a member-owned, locally based credit union.”
Coast Central will begin accepting applications for its spring grant round on February 1, 2027. Applications can be submitted through Coast Central’s grants portal and are reviewed twice annually by its grants committee, made up of employees and volunteer board members. The committee’s grant recommendations are ultimately approved by Coast Central’s full board of directors. Learn more at coastccu.org/community/community-investment/.
