Arcata House Partnership Receives $70,000 to Initiate New Job Training Program

As a fall 2023 recipient of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s (FHLBank San Francisco) AHEAD Economic Development Grant Program, Arcata House Partnership (AHP) recently received a disbursement of $70,000 facilitated by Coast Central Credit Union. The program had announced the grants in September.
AHP provides permanent housing, emergency shelter, case management, and other services to individuals and families who are homeless and/or hungry in Humboldt County. The funds are being used for a program in which unhoused individuals will receive formal training to work in the field of social services and assist others experiencing similar situations to theirs. The training is planned to begin in February.
“We’re just so thrilled at the impact this training will have on our community,’ shared Darlene Spoor, Ed.D. AHP Executive Director. “When resources are limited, we need to be creative about ways to transform the lives of those willing to put forth the effort to change their course for the better. This training will do just that, and we are grateful to Coast Central for their partnership to make it happen.” More information is available at arcatahouse.org and by calling 707-822-4528.
