Coast Central Credit Union announced that Aaron Anderson has joined the organization as Manager, Member Services of its Weaverville location at 40 Glen Road. Aaron oversees a team of six employees and has responsibility for operations, lending, and new member opportunities in Weaverville and surrounding areas. Coast Central Credit Union (CCCU) announced that the fall 2023 round of its Community Investment Program is now open.  With the Board of Directors’ approval of an increase up to $300,000 in grants annually, $150,000 is available this round to support local organizations throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.  Grant amounts generally range from $3,000 to a maximum of $25,000, and there are usually 8 to 12 recipients. Coast Central Credit Union announced that Christian Hernandez has joined the organization as a Mortgage Loan Services Officer based at its McKinleyville location, reporting to Mortgage Loan Originations Manager Lisa Hall. In his new role, Hernandez assists with all mortgage loan needs for home purchases, refinances, and home equity loans and lines of credit, including guidance with the entire process from application to closing, with expertise in required forms, disclosures, and reporting. Coast Central Credit Union Increases Scholarships to 25 Recipients

Coast Central Credit Union President/CEO James T. Sessa announced that its Board of Directors has approved an increase in the number of scholarships awarded and selected 25 exceptional high school seniors out of 70 applications submitted. CCCU had previously awarded 19 students last year and 11 the previous several years. Scholarships are based on a written essay describing their ability to overcome adversity, displayed commitment to make a positive impact on their schools or communities, and academic performance or improvement. Coast Central’s Community Grant Program Awards $150,000

Coast Central Credit Union President/CEO James T. Sessa announced that its Board of Directors has approved $150,000 in grants to 22 local organizations through its Community Investment Program’s spring round, an increase of $50,000 over previous rounds.  A total of 70 non-profits had requested nearly $1 million.  Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorships and college scholarships for a total of $650,000 this year throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.  Additionally, Coast Central employees contribute over 3,500 hours annually in volunteerism. Coast Central Credit Union announced it is currently accepting applications for up to 25 college scholarships, available to students graduating this year from high schools throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.  Scholarships are awarded in the amount of up to $5,000 each, disbursed over a four-year period. Coast Central Donates $6,000 to Northern Humboldt High School Projects

Coast Central announced that Arcata High and McKinleyville High Schools recently received donations for athletic projects through its sponsorship program. Arcata High had requested funds for a new portable scoreboard that could be used at all soccer and softball games.  Principal Ron Perry stated, “Our previous scoreboard was unrepairable, and a long-term replacement could not be installed in time for our girls’ softball season this year. Additionally, our soccer teams had never had a scoreboard.  Coast Central came through for our student athletes big-time.” The school received $3,000 from CCCU.
