Coast Central Credit Union is proud to announce that its Board of Directors has approved scholarships for 25 exceptional high school seniors, each receiving up to $5,000 over four years to support their pursuit of higher education. In total, $125,000 in scholarships has been awarded as part of the Credit Union’s longstanding commitment to youth empowerment and community investment.
“For nearly four decades, we’ve been honored to recognize and support our extraordinary young people who want to pursue higher education,” said President and CEO Fred Moore, Coast Central Credit Union. “We extend our sincere appreciation to our members for directly supporting our giving programs and to our Board of Directors for consistently supporting this level of giving.”
Scholarship recipients were selected based on a written essay demonstrating their ability to overcome adversity, their commitment to making a positive impact on their schools or communities, and their academic performance or notable improvement. This year, Credit Union received 70 applications from students planning to attend Cal Poly Humboldt, College of the Redwoods, Chico State University, and Shasta College.
Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorships and college scholarships for a total of $650,000 annually, and this year, CCCU employees will contribute over 7,500 hours in volunteerism.
