Four community grants totaling $50,000 have been awarded by Coast Central Credit Union. This was announced today by Dean G. Christensen, the credit union’s President/CEO. To date, the credit union has awarded $900,000 to 75 worthwhile community organizations. Robert Machado is the new Coast Central Credit Union Manager, Member Services for the Crescent City location. Over the past 20 years, Machado has split his time between managing a Union Bank Branch and serving as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer for the biggest builder in the Central Valley. Coast Central Credit Union is matching up to $2,500 in community donations to help with local forest fire relief efforts in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity Counties. In addition to matching donations, Coast Central will facilitate the purchase and delivery of goods to local volunteer groups already aiding victims of the fires. The money will be used to purchase bottled water, sleeping bags, filtration masks and other needed supplies for the affected families.
