Coast Central Credit Union Again Increases Number of Scholarships Available
Coast Central Credit Union announced it is currently accepting applications for up to 25 college scholarships, available to students graduating this year from high schools throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of up to $5,000 each, disbursed over a four-year period.
Recipients will be selected based on multiple factors including financial need; essay on overcoming adversity; commitment to education, either through academic performance or consistent improvement during high school; and community and/or school involvement. Recipients are required to attend Cal Poly Humboldt, College of the Redwoods, Chico State or Shasta College for at least the first two years.
“As 2023 represents an unprecedented amount of giving to a total of $650,000, I am pleased to announce that we have increased our number of 4-year scholarships again, from 19 to 25 available this year to young people seeking to further their education,“ stated CCCU President/CEO James T. Sessa. “We are appreciative to our volunteer Board of Directors for approving this level and our members who directly support these efforts through their membership. We look forward to continuing to recognize the hard work and future dreams of graduating high school seniors.”
